Re: [orca-list] How to make Ubuntu 12.10 accessible?

Gnome classic is the interface that is like Gnome 2.32. Gnome-shell
is Gnome3 which is going to resemble Unity more closely. It's
actually quite nice once you get the hang of it.

Hi Thomas,
what is the difference between classic gnome with no effects running
under gnome 3.6 and classic gnome running under gnome shell?
Is it possible to say that one of them is better for the blind user?

Hi Petr,

At the moment if you want to make Ubuntu 12.10 accessible you need to
get and install Gnome Shell 3.6. Open gnome-terminal and do
sudo apt-get install gnome-shell
and after you reboot set Gnome as your default desktop session. When
Orca comes up you will have a reasonably accessible desktop
environment to work with.

Hi list,
I have installed the new Ubuntu 12.10 yesterday and i can use it with
some restrictions. The biggest problem is, that i am not able to go
through dash.
Switching between windows by pressing alt+tab is also quite difficult,
even it is accessible.
So i would like to ask you whether there is some way how to make 12.10
more accessible? Or may i try to install 12.10 with XFCE or KDE
interface? Or the best choice is to use 12.04 till the accessibility
will be better in the latest release?
Thank you for your answers.
