Look at a brand new setup of Ubuntu 12.04 with no upgrades particularly
from proposed.
I had one and the problem was not there.
I feel strongly too that it is atspi causing some thing unwanted.

Likely AT-SPI2. I started looking yesterday. Orca's code here is pretty
straightforward and has not changed.
