Forwarding this to the list because I like to keep the conversation all
in one place.

This all sounds good thanks for all your work Joanie!

Hey guys.
I'm looking over all of the command line options we have for setting up
Orca initially:
-t/--text-setup - We all seem to agree this should be kept
-s/--setup/--gui-setup - Three ways to get into Orca's Preferences
dialog, in addition to pressing Orca + Space or pressing the Preferences
button should you have the main window enabled.
-n/--no-setup - To request that you not be placed automatically in the
Preferences dialog if your preferences cannot be found.
Do we really need all of these? (I myself don't think so.)
Beyond that, the current trend is for core functionality to not be seen
as a separate application, but rather integrate it more as part of the
desktop. In that spirit, GNOME wants to move Orca's preferences into the
control center, similar to what Apple has done with OS X and Voice Over.
If KDE would like to do the same, that would be super. Then all I would
have to do is expose the settings to them and respond to changes. But
that is a bit of a digression. The point, is this: We have five command
line options which I don't think we need now, and which will ultimately
be rendered obsolete.
Before I rip out -s, --setup, --gui-setup, -n, and --no-setup, I wanted
to ask if there was an overwhelming desire to retain them.
Lastly, as a reminder, this has nothing to do with -t/--text-setup. They
will remain.
Thoughts?
Take care.
