[orca-list] read all on terminal does not always work

Hello all,
This could be partially OT, but still in context with Orca.
As many of you, specially Thomas, Alex and Jasen are aware, I was looking for an email client, after
thunderbird broke in terms of accessibility.
I finally settled on mutt and am totally satisfied with it.
As an alternative, I had also tryed pine.
One thing which worked in pine and which I miss in mutt is that when I press caps + ' on my laptop in pine,
it used to read the email.
I open the email in Mutt by hitting the down arrow and then pressing enter on the email i want.
Same is in pine.
But in Pine, I can press ctrl key and then tell Orca to read the email body using the read all command.
When I try same thing in Mutt on gnome terminal, I don't have Orca reading all that is there on the terminal,
(in this case the email body).
My question is, given that pine and mutt both use the same terminal, how come orca behaves differently?
Any suggestions?
happy hacking.
Krishnakant.
