Re: [orca-list] teamtalk client that works with orca

The good news is that I did the same test using ubuntu 12.04 and the accessibility seems ok. Need more test.

Hmmmm, I forget where I got the tt client I used. Maybe someone on the
orca list will answer, after all?

Hi David.
Can you tell me please how to install teamtalk?

Idownloaded an oficial copy and tried to run in ubuntu 11.10 but orca
told me that the application was inaccessible.
This is running version 4.3.
Thanks.

Hi!

I used the Linux teamtalk client in an early version of Ubuntu 11.10,
with some accessibility, though not perfect. I could browse and join
channels, set preferences, talk, and listen. I think it's a QT
aplication. It may work better in Ubuntu 12.04, assuming the
accessibility stack is improved over that in 11.10. An odd thing I found
in teamtalk is that, when browsing channels, orca seemed to speak the
name of the channel one after the one I really was on. e. g. if a server
has channels Orca, Ubuntu, Blind-Drivers, and Save_The_Amazon, and I
wanted to join Orca, I'd arrow down til Orca said "orca", then hit
'enter' to join.
