Re: [orca-list] Orca Master Startup Problems

Hello, Joanie. Thanks for your reply.

It looks like I accidentally grabbed the stable version of Orca. I'm sorry about the hassle there.

I do think I may have broken something, though, because Orca does not speak at startup as it used to. Also, when I press the NumPad_Insert+Q combination to quit Orca, Orca now says "No Focus" rather than "Goodbye".

I will have to try and rebuild everything again, as I maybe messed something up.

Thanks again for your reply.

All the best.

Take care.

Orca from a couple of versions ago eliminated the enableLockingKeys
setting. What it sounds like is that you are now trying to start up an
older version of Orca which expects that setting to be around and it's
not. Is that possibly the case?

Take care.

Hello, everyone.

I have built the following packages from Git:

When I start Orca, I do not hear the usual "Welcome to Orca" greeting.
When I start Orca from a terminal, I receive these messages:

I also receive this message when I try to open Orca's Preferences window.

Did I build something incorrectly, or did I come across a bug?

If I built somethign incorrectly, can I simply go into the directories
for atk, at-spi2-core, etc and run sudo make uninstall to remove
everything and start from scratch?

I apologize for my ignorance in all of this.
