[orca-list] Orca gone wild: crashed; had to reinstall ubuntu

Here is an interesting one for you. I was running ubuntu 11.10 with orca master (3.3.5). I had voxin installed as well. I had installed hplib 3.1.x for my network printer. I then experimented with an ocr program called ocr reader(?). After a few times of scanning something, I deleted everything in my downloads folder since I didn't need the stuff in there anymore. After I did that orca went wild. I would press the space bar, and it would start preferences. I would press the letter s, and it would mute itself. Pressing e did something else, but I don't remember right now what it was. I then restarted. Orca didn't start, so I started it in the run window (alt+f2). I ended up getting the setup wizard. Uh, OK? this is strange... I went through the wizard. When I got to the do you want to logout? question, I pressed y and then enter. Nothing happened. I figured it was one of those bugs where you didn't automatically get signed out, so I pressed ctrl+alt+del for the logout screen. I pressed space and got signed out. When I signed in again, still no orca. I ran it again through the run box. I ended up with the setup wizard again. I couldn't get it running again. I wanted to do a repair, but couldnt find anything on how to do that. I then tried to upgrade to the same version hoping it would fix whatever went wrong. The installer crashed right at the end (96%). I had to resort to reinstalling like a new setup. How painful, but it was fun experience either way. This sets me back two days in my homework for the week, but I have somewhat of a light load this week. Does anyone know what might have went wrong?
