If you're using GNOME 3, it should be accessible without you needing to
set the gconf key or set GNOME_ACCESSIBILITY=1 in your environment first.
If you're using GNOME 2, it should continue to be accessible.

Hi Mike,
Could you please tell me, what will this bug fix do?
I mean what positive change will I be able to notice if I try it?
Happy hacking.

Hi all,
So Trevor and I have made a fix for the Firefox issue where it doesn't
detect that accessibility is enabled on GNOME 3:
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=693343
Currently, the fix is in trunk (the Firefox 12 tree) and aurora (the tree
that will become Firefox 11) but not the Firefox 10 beta. Getting changes
into aurora and beta requires extra approval, and Mozilla developers are
fairly conservative about what they allow in.
Anyway, one of the Mozilla accessibility developers thinks that testing
from the GNOME accessibility community might help get the patch landed into
beta, so if anyone would like to test a build with the patch and comment on
the bug with the distribution/version that you tested with, then that would
be welcome. This applies whether you're using GNOME 2 or GNOME 3--it needs
to not introduce regressions for GNOME 2, which in theory it shouldn't.
Anyway, you can get a nightly Aurora 911) build that includes the fix at
ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/nightly/latest-mozilla-aurora/
Thanks,
