As far as I know, only the desktop environment is changed in Sonar 
12.04, so it should be safe. It's based on Ubuntu 12.04, but with 
unity2d removed and gnome-shell or classic, your choice at download 
time, installed and selected by default. However, if in any doubt at 
all, stick with the official Ubuntu 12.04, especially if you're already 
using it. The safer path is usually best in production environments, no 
matter how low the risk is on the alternative path.
