I thought I had the same thing happening but it turned out I had my 
speaker volume far down.  When I increased it to about 50%, sonar came up 
talking just fine.  If that doesn't work, try hitting the insert or zero 
key on keypad along with pageup key a few times.  That didn't work for me,
