I don't have this behavior myself, but I'm using Orca 3.1.9 and
Thunderbird 13. What version of Orca are you using? BTW, I also don't
see this in Orca 3.4.2 with Thunderbird 14.
BTW, I have key echo and echo character turned off. I just have echo
word turned on.

When writing a new email in TB 13, orca repeats everything I type twice.
How do you fix this? I have key echo turned on and echo by character
turned on. In addition, I have everything in the key echo tab turned off
except alpha and numeric characters. Any ideas how to deal with this?
