Mike, I do believe you wil have a better time of it of you spell
Pidgin as the linguists do and not as the birdwatchers do.

It's p-i-d-g-i-n.  I made the same mistake when I first tried to use
it so, I know how hard you will find it to locate the package with
that spelling in your post.  It's name comes from the fact that people
who speak two separate languages but know a smattering of each other's
language communicate in a mix of both languages which linguist dub a
Pidgin.  You use the package to talk to other people from around the
world so, I imagine they used that word to signify this.  It's how I
help myself remember how to spell it properly.
