Re: [orca-list] When I doing any Orca laptop binding command, capslock always turned on/off

Hi, all!

For now, I make sure to hit caps-lock after doing anything with the Orca key. Also, I have key echo set to
include alpha-numeric and punctuation keys, system-wide. Finally, I made the upper-case voice pitch much
higher than the others; I'll notice, right away, that caps-lock is on. When I'm focused on a password entry
field, and caps-lock is on, Orca speaks the pop-up notification.

Cheers,

Dave Hunt

yes I also agree to this point regarding the caps key and would like to second Steve Holmes in his views.

I don't think this is only with Ubuntu. I've been noticing screwiness
with the caps lock being toggled when I use laptop Orca functions.
The thing is, I don't always know when the caps lock toggles until I
do subsequent typing and realize that I'm typing in all caps. I
really wish the caps lock key could speak the status of the caps lock
condition. It would also be nice to have Orca make a sound or
something whenever you have caps lock on and you are holding the shift
key down to type a supposed capital letter; this can warn you that you
have the caps lock key on - probably unintentionally.

Hy Dave,

Very interesting, oldest installed I actual using Ubuntu Lucid main work

version, but Natty producing this problem absolute sure both two Orca
release my machine (Ubuntu factory packaged Orca 3.0.0 package version
and latest master version).
The absolute interesting think:
When I tested this problem a generated Lucid live CD with containing
3.0.1 modified Orca package, the issue is happening Lucid too.
I only try undo the gsettings related changes (April 4th commit for
#646288 bug fix).
Unfortunately, default with Lucid not have gi.repository python bindings
if I known right, or only I not known the package name. :-):-)
Hopefuly I right undoed the gsettings related changes to possible using
2.30 GNOME release the 3.0.1 maintenance version and future maintenance
versions.
My patch based with 3.0.1 and master branch awailable four file diffs
with changed the april 4th commit for GNOME 3.0 branch.
I not see other problems the modified 3.0.1 Orca package my Lucid
system, but only I short tested this modified version.
