[orca-list] installing ubuntu

i screwed up my ubuntu system on my desktop pc and i am trying to 
do a reinstall.
i have tried doing space, f5, 3 and enter twice after 10 seconds, 
20 seconds etc and the best i can do is get it to the point where 
it goes through the orca settup and then my problem beginns when 
it is supposed to log out and back in again because i have 
pressed enter, ctrl alt delete and i cannot get to the login 
promt.
what would i be best to do when trying to run the live cd?
i tried pressing space a few times before my f5 3 enter twice and 
still the same results.
