Yes, a strait source download option should be available.  From there,
we can build an Arch compatible package easily enough and post it in
AUR (Arch Users Repository).  I would even be glad to build such a
PKGBUILD and post to that repo.

sounds really great! The problem for me is that I am currently not
able to test it as I can't see any solution to install it under Arch
Linux which doesn't use the Debian package management system. Is there
any other way to get it (source?)?
