Re: [orca-list] Using Gnome Terminal with Orca

Ah, this sounds more elegant than my solution, but I usually just use
Edit -> Select All followed by either Edit -> Copy or just
control+shift+c. This copies everything in the terminal to the
clipboard. I can then paste it into gedit to pluck out the text I'm
interested in. Obviously another solution would be to redirect the
output of a command to a file. I'm now off to read Storm's web page.

Hi,
The one problem with gnome-terminal is there's no way to select text to
copy from that application. It used to work using flat review, but
something happened, I can't remember what, and it no longer works. The
way I get around this is by using screen. My .screenrc file is set up so
that I can press control+b after copying something to screen's internal
buffer and it will then place it in the clipboard so I can paste it into
whatever I need. If you are interested in this setup there's more info at:

Actually, you just use flat review, if the output is larger than the
screen, you scroll it up and down.
shift+page up scrolls it up, shift+page down scrolls it down, and
there's a setting that says that pressing any key automatically scrolls
back to the end.

Hi,

Where can I find a good reference on using the Gnome Terminal with Orca.
For instance, keystrokes to read output to the terminal, especially when
it is longer than the displayed screen.

Thanks!

Tami
