well, there's nothing I can do about getting the patch into 4.0.x, I'm

How about we just sue the makers of Adobe, and KEEP suing them
until they either release the code to read the friggin things, make a
html-friendly decoder for Firefox/Safari/IExplorer, or just go out of
friggin business for good and get the hell off the internet.
Personally, I could care less aboutcopyright/download issues and
whether current and future pdf documents are storable on our systems,
just as long as they do the friggin work to make them readable to the
blind/handicapped, as well as to the rest of the public, WITHOUT us
having to download the next latest piece of their stoopid software to do
it. They have the right to copyright and prevent the storage of openly
published documents, and if that's what they want, fine. They should
also make those documents readable to all users. Period. It's *their*
responsibility, and class-action lawsuits should be filed to see that
our rights are protected as well as theirs. It's not our job to fix
their messes, and until they're hit right in the wallet, and hit HARD,
they're never going to stop trying to screw the public for a buck.
