Hy List,
Sorry if my english description is not full understable or grammatical
right with this possible future feature if the community would like this
in Orca:
Some time, for example me need do event notes (meetings, consultating.
my collegauges, etc), and usefull to remember me a future event for
example before a day or few minutes before the event (30 or 15 minute).
In Thunderbird, have a Firefox extension (the name is Lightning), but
what happen if the user not launch Thunderbird before the remember time
period? Usual of course real time this is not happening.
In Orca, your openion useful this event notification style limited
feature, or your openion this is absolute not a screen reader related
task? If the community answer this, I full agree, because this feature
implementation I think need do very complex work of code, and this code
possible risk Orca stability.
I no, in the top panel have a date time applet with I think support to
do events and meeting add, but when I tryed I not possible do change the
event date with accessible way. Anybody known a similar meeting notifyer
application with possible to use system wide, not only an application?
If In future the community would like this feature in Orca, this future
feature working similar, but the specification is not full clean:
1. If the user press a note add keybinding command, need a popup dialog,
with supports a text box, date and time setting controls with supports
in future committed presentDateFormat settings, see the bug 611576
progress. Need do a way with do possibility the user to set the
notification time period (before one day the ewent, before a time value
for ewent if would like notification with the ewent day not prewious
day), and need do a possibility to user determine how many time present
the notification.
2. If the timer is equals with the remember time or near this, need show
a notification or popup window, with presents the ewent text. If the
notifications is presented with determined time, need delete the event
automaticaly.
But I think this is a very complex feature and possible to not a very
good solution with a screen reader, for example always time looking in a
timer period possible resulting problems. So, I absolute agree if this
feature are not implemented with Orca.
Attila
