[orca-list] problem updating orca

I have downloaded the source file for Orca to update the version I have
only I am running into a problem with executing the commands after
unpacking the files from the main .tar file.
All I am getting after going to my directory where the downloaded files
are is either command not found or file not found when I type
configure, /.configure or .configure so I don't get as far as the make,
make check and make install commands.
What am I doing wrong?
