no reason it can't. Installing may be a little interesting though, in my experience booting from usb doesn't 
always work well.  If you find this to be the case for you you can either try to net boot the machine ( a 
pain you need to set up a tctp server and dhcp server).  The other simpler otpion is to take the hard drive 
out of the net book and put it in a different machine where you can install in a vm if you can use two 
hardrives, or boot the machine from a standard cd, with the net book hard drive, and do a normal install.  
either way you can put the net books hard drive back in the net book, and it should work.
