Re: [orca-list] key echo?

On this doc page: http://library.gnome.org/users/gnome-access-guide/nightly/id2483301.html.en
It says:

"While echo by character seems quite similar to the key echo of alphanumeric and punctuation keys, there are important differences, especially with respect to accented letters and other symbols for which there is no dedicated key. Key echo causes Orca  to announce what you just pressed; character echo causes it to announce what was inserted."

Hope this helps,
Carolyn

Hi, List!

What is supposed to be the difference between "enable  echo by
character" and "enable alphanumeric keys"?  They appear to be almost
same, except when I choose the former, echo is very delayed, and some
characters are never echoed.  In the latter case, all alphanumeric,
punctuation and spaces are echoed, though some not echoed until two or
three keys pressed.

Thanks,

Dave
