Hello List

I am trying to work with browser and mail access using ORCA.

As I have tried to use Orca with various mail engines like gmail, yahoo, rediffmail and observed that its not working properly with these, may be the structure/interface is different for each.

Yes, different interfaces have different problems. For gmail, it is recommended that you use basic htmo. Yahoo seemed to be very accessible specially after I started to use the headings list and linked list extentions.
But using a mail client is the best approach.

Then I have shifted to Evolution mail for accessing mail with different mail engine, because it give a common interface to use. Here it is to be confirm is this observation and approach is correct? Or am I going in wrong direction with wrong reason.

I think you must use thunderbird, firstly it has the same level of accessibility like firefox provides because it uses zul engine for both these applications. And I was also an evolution user but shifted to thunderbird version 3 and I am totally satisfied with it. I am impressed with its small foot print compared to heavy memory consumtion of evolution. Further more it is really smooth and responds very well with orca. The only thing I find difficult with thunderbird is that it does not help to read mails in a thread if I don't concentrate. For example I am writing a reply to your mail and so your message should have > sign prepended to every line. But thunderbird is not letting that happen. May be it is some thing to do with orca or thunderbird I don't know but I did not get any solution even after asking again and again. But it is not such a major problem and can't be considred to be a show-stopper bug.

Happy hacking.
