Re: [orca-list] problem starting brltty

hi

i usw a combibraille with an usb2serial adapter successfull.
first thing to try:
sudo brltty -b cb -d /dev/ttyUSB0 -t de <return>

-b is the driver to use. cb for combibraille
-d the port the display is connect to
-t the texttable in my case de, "en" would be english.

for you this command should look like:
sudo brltty -b bn -d /dev/ttyUSB= -t en

Note: the usb is in uppercase!

If this works, then :
sudo gedit /etc/brltty.conf
go to the section with the braildrivers,
delete the "#" before the line with braillenote,

go on and change the connectionsdevice
to: serial /dev/ttyUSB0

save it, and restart...
greatings

1. check /etc/brltty.conf
delete the "#" on the line of your display and comment the autodetection, these one will not work with a adapter,

I have just got my USB to Serial adaptor for my Braillenote M-Power but
I can't seem to be able to start BRLTTY.
as soon as Ubuntu Loaded and I logged in, I went to gnome terminal and
typed sudo brltty /dev/ttyUSB0 and after hitting enter I got an option
not found error message.
I even tried to replace the /dev with /d with the same results.
I am wondering if I need to add something like bn somewhere in my
command.
Hope someone can advise me.
