+1 for the structural navigation keys.
I also agree with replacing r and shift+r with next/previous radio
button. I always remap it to that straight away if I have to reinstall.
btw are v (visited link), t (table) and l (list) mapped by default? If
not they should be too.

Hey all.
Reviewing all the keybinding discussions from this past week or so, here
is where I believe the community stands:
* Creating profiles to address bindings associated with personal
preferences and/or output modes is an interesting possibility, and worth
looking into further. However, we don't yet know exactly how such an
implementation would look, nor do we know how we'd actually implement
it. Plus it might prove to be a lot of work at a time when there are
more important issues to address and not as many resources as we'd like
dedicated to addressing them. Therefore, we should table this for now.
(By which I mean, y'all can still talk about it and even begin work on
it, but I personally will be working on other things.)
* Binding the currently unbound commands for structural navigation seems
like a great idea to some because it will make it easier for new users
coming to Orca from other screen readers. Besides, anyone (i.e. more
experienced users) can always unbind or rebind them. The bindings I
originally proposed were viewed on a spectrum ranging from "not
objectionable if you don't change the existing bindings" to "those are
the very same keybindings I already use in Orca". There was one
issue/exception: It turns out that r and shift r are already bound to
live regions, so we can't use them for radio buttons. The one
alternative proposed was period and shift period for radio buttons
because a period looks like a dot, and a checked/selected radio button
contains a dot. Therefore, we should add the following bindings:
Anchor - a and shift a
Button - b and shift b
Check box - x and shift x
Combo box - c and shift c
Entry - e and shift e
Radio button - period and shift period
Separator - s and shift s
* Adding a keybinding to cycle through the different levels of
punctuation would be a valued addition to Orca. Such a feature should be
pretty easy to implement and sounds like an ideal task for a user who
wants to get more familiar with writing Orca scripts. Therefore, one or
more users will take on this task; I will not (though I'll help if you
have questions).
If you agree, +1. If you disagree for any reason, especially about the
firefox bindings, -1. Once enough input has been received and/or Friday
rolls around, I will act on your decision. Or not act, if there are a
bunch of -1's.
Thanks again for all your input!
