[orca-list] trouble installing Via Voice

Hi,
I found my viavoice that I bought a couple of years ago, and I have tried 
installing from all the various folders, such as Ubuntu, and Ubuntu.7.10, 
and Debian.edge.
I am running Ubuntu 9.10.
I edited the speech-d.conf file to remove the # from the IBM line.
The setup in terminal runs okay, but it does not show up in Orca's available 
synthesizers.
