Hello Teresa,
I just upgraded to Ubuntu 9.10. I noticed the addition of the "enable
contracted Braille" checkbox. When I check it, Braille disappears and I
can no longer invoke the Orca preferences dialog box with insert-space,
either. I'm still very much a beginner with Linux, so I haven't been
updating Orca regularly. Is there any library that I need for this
checkbox? I'll also go and post this in Ubuntu accessibility. By the
way, I'm using a braille Lite 40 display.
I believe this is happening because libluis isn't installed. It still
shouldn't completely break braille though. On most systems if I
remember correctly the checkbox won't show up if liblouis isn't on the
system so this might be a Ubuntu problem and need a bug fix on there
side.
Mike
Thanks,
Teresa
