Re: [orca-list] Orca on Ubuntu Jaunty

Hi Christian
Did you install the python-speechd package? This is the speech dispatcher bindings for python, and they are necessary for Orca to use it. If these are not found, Orca will drop back to gnome-speech.

Hi all,
Yesterday I installed the new Ubuntu Jaunty Beta but I am having problems with speech cutting off so I decided to install speech- dispatcher. I am using Espeak but I am experiencing the same problems with SD. One thing that I noticed is that it still seems to use gnome-speech. Any ideas?
Many thanks,
Christian
