Hi Mike,
I haven't tried Fedora myself, but on http://www.lalrecordings Darragh has
recorded a walk through of Fedora 7 I think it it was. If I remember correctly,
he gives some instructions on how to get Fedora talking before booting into
GNOME, perahps these might work for you.
