i have just started looking at opensolaris and i am trying to
install packages but i am finding the graphical package manager
painfully slow and orca doesn't appear to be able to keep up with
movements when pressing the arrow keys for example when going
through the packages.
i seem to have been able to install 1 package which was
openoffice.
however one thing i am trying to get is an app for cd or dvd
burning but although brazerro shows up in the package manager i
can't seem to be able to install it from the command line and a
lot of packages seem to come up with this pattern error messages.
i am wondering if i need to enable repositories somehow and if so
how do i do this unless of course i am typing the wrong names for
my packages or not using the right case letters when typing the
package name after i have typed my pfexec pkg install.
could anyone possibly give me any advice?
i had this same problem yesterday when i was thinking of updating
orca and i couldn't install cbe.
