[orca-list] Interesting problem, Ubuntu says there are software updates, but packages are being hled back?

Hi folks,

I got a notification saying that there wre software updates, so I ran sudo 
apt-get update and upgrade respectively, and some packages were held back - 
what does this mean? I then tried to do same running the graphc update 
manager which froze the PC. Can anyone help please?
