Re: [orca-list] Orca and Firefox - problems

Hi:

This sounds like Orca's structural navigation code is kicking in when it shouldn't be. Try pressing Orca+z (Insert+z in desktop mode, Caps_Lock+z in laptop mode) to toggle the use of the structural navigation keys and see if the problem goes away.

In addition, we've done a lot of work with Orca since 2.24.1. We'll be making a 2.24.4 release "very soon" that should be compatible with GNOME 2.24.x systems. I hope to have it out by next week.

Hi,
my sister has following problem. When using quick search on web pages
(Firefox), sometimes happens that some common keys on keyboard do not
write (seems like to be deactivated or blocked) - upper keyboard rows
do not work, medium row (left side ok, approx. from "H" not). This
problem is in web browser (search by writing) and also in dialogs
(save as). In OOo it is ok.

In addition, Orca does not read the dialogs and menus (= nothing),
when moving with Tab key, it only says "Tab". After some time it
resets to normal state, probably by mouse click on something.

It is strange. I cannot provide you more information, because I use
mouse (instead my sister) and never had this problem while running her
machine.

any advice?
