Unix operating system. Linux is considered to be a Unix like operatng
system. So both are Unix based operating systems but Open Salaris is not Linux. Both Unix and Linux are

Hi folks,
Is Open Salaris a variant of Linux like
Ubuntu et al? The reason I ask is because I'm looking at an open
source vertualization tool and it says Linux on one link and then Open
Salaris on the other. I thought Open Salaris was a Linux
variant?
