Hi,

I already gave you a direct link for knoppix-adriane.

Tired of Microsoft Windows and paying thousands for screen-readers? try out NVDA for Windows, or try out and switch to grml, Ubuntu, Vinux, or knoppix-adriane Linux desktops. Knoppix ubuntu and vinux-cli-max are the most accessible for beginners.

Hi,

You get it to work with orca by either installing it, or better yet, download a Linux distribution that includes LXDE with orca. The only distro i know of that has it is knoppix-adriane.. by default knoppix-adriane comes up in a text consle mode with a menu you navigate with the arrow keys. and knoppix adriane is the only one that has a scanning and OCR software. so anyway to start lxdeyou just arrow down to start graphical interface and it enter and it will start up. orca will start automatically. the version of orca is 2.2.28 latest one. it has openoffice, firefox and others in there.
advantages of using LXDE.
*gnome requires 384mb of ram 512mb recommended to run.
*lxde needs only 64mb 128mb recommended.
*lxde is much much more responsive and boots perhaps 4 times faster than gnome does.
*knoppix-adriane is based on debian.
*vinux uses an older version of gnome from a few years ago. I personally like to keep my software up-to-date.
*tony sales maker of vinux says he wants blind people to learn the shell or console or command line whatever you want to call it so if using vinux best to get the cli-max version in my opinion.
*if you are new to Linux if you got the ram memory go with ubuntu, if not give knoppix-adriane a try!
