Re: [orca-list] Debian and ubuntu

Hi Ashley,

after you installed Debian you simply become root,
do a: updatedb && apt-get update && apt-get dist-upgrade
and once this finished you do:
apt-get install gnome-orca brltty-x11
Also do a: apt-get install openoffice.org-gnome esound libesd-alas0

since Debian uses to be uncomplete, but after doing all this, + rebooting if
you saw some kernel-image-* pack installed,
you may be able to do:
alt+f2 orca <ENTER> from inside the desktop,
and that's it (I personally still not understand Espeak, no matter the
language he's supposed to speak but if you do, then it would be five min. of
work to have access with braille+speech under Lenny)

PS: debian is currently the best choice since the 1st Jaunty feedbacks from
my sighted friends are catastrophical! I'm shamed for Ubuntu! they should
better work longer on a new version instead of doing the same bad things
that MS do!!!!! Releasing then debugging!!!

Hi list,

I was just wondering, does anybody know of a debian live cd (not ubuntu) that is installable using orca?

also, are the small net install cd's of ubuntu accessible?

Thanks,

Ashley
