Hi,

I just updated my local installation of Orca from svn trunk with no 
problems (on Ubuntu Intrepid).  I would suggest that you rerun the 
autogen.sh script again and make sure the --prefix is input correctly. 
If the prefix command takes, the installation should have nothing to do 
with the /usr/local tree--that path should be created under your local 
target directory.
