[orca-list] problem with opensolaris

i am wondering if the problem i am having getting opensolaris to 
speak when i down arrow 5 times and enter is to do with the 
hardware i have for producing sound on my laptop which is why i 
don't get a beep or any speech and the reason why i feel my cd 
drive spinns, pauses and then spins again for the last time and 
then just seems to hang.
