It is possible to use apt-get
install vfu to install VFU file manager while usr is logged as root in The gnome
Terminal window. I even found out, that Vfu is accessible with Orca, The list
items are spoken, but too many information is presented in every list item. I
will try to modifi configuration file or contact The developer for assistance
how to customize this console file manager to be used with Orca The most
effectively. Vfu is also compatible with Yasr, list items are also spoken, names
of folder and files. I will analyze all options and function key The brovsing of
folders and files is very confort. I will try to make Gnome desktop link for
automatic starting of this program in The terminal Window. I would also like to
tell all visually impaired users, that Xsane scanning tool is fully compatible
with Simply OCR application and that Xsane can automatically scan The batch of
pages. So Linux can be used for reading books, eventhough I AM aware, that
opensource OCR engines can not produce results like Finereader or Omnipage PRO
version 15 or 16.
I Am very satisfied with Orca, I found it very
usable assistive technology and I Am able to use all Gnome applications, I AM
having trouble with switching to English keyboard layout so i can not type
some strings to enable administrative tasks to work with Orca, so for example, I
can not install Skype package for Debian because Orca can not speak. But I Am
also not able to use synaptic. ~ and other characters can not be typed when
Czech keyboard layout is used, and I do not know ascii values for those
characters.
