This bug relates to a different situation.  In my case, it is a
directory in which I delete all files from it.  I'll outline my steps
below.
1. Go into an existing folder anywhere on your machine.  Preferably,
might wanna create a directory and place 2 or more files in it.

2. Then delete each file one by one.  I enabled the full delete in the
file browser's preferences.  My prompts are enabled.

3.  After pressing the shift DEL key for the first file, get the
prompt to delete, hit space bar to confirm and delete file.

4. Repeat step 3 until on last file.  Then as you delete the last
file, press space bar to confirm; the folder would then empty out.
The file deletes but Orca no longer speaks.  After this, I have no
choice but to shut down gnome completely with control alt backspace
and then restart from the console.

I do not use gdm to login.  I use startx from a console; Slackware
12.0 and Dropline-Gnome 2.20.
