The only workaround to this issue is to get the library I mention in my message from the Ubuntu gutsy 
repositories, and install it. However, note that it may not work, as it is built against older libraries, and 
with newer Ubuntu releases, core pieces of the operating system can often change enough to break any older 
libraries.
