Re: [orca-list] AT and custom settings

Title: AT and custom settings
Hi,

First just wanted to say I'm delighted to see the BBC consulting users of open source assistive technologies when considering future development of it's services.  I'm blind and use both commercial Windows software (JAWS) and open source software - Orca on Ubuntu with Firefox as the web browser.

I'd be delighted to help but am not sure what information you want specifically.  I looked at the two sites and saw the program guide and the program details (I use the beeb site all the time), but what specifically are you after?  I didn't see any abbreviations.

Subject: [orca-list] AT and custom settings

Hello Orca Users,

The BBC is striving to create usable and accessible products to share its programmes and content with everyone. In an effort to bring new technologies to our sites and ensure a pleasant user experience we're considering introducing microformats.

We are looking to the AT user communities to gain feedback on how you configure your AT to expand abbreviations such as those shown here:

Lastly, I want to welcome your thoughts on whether microformats are good or bad for the AT user community. Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Sincerely,
Julie Schiller
