Hi Henning,
Thanks for the guide so far. The problem is that this is gonna run on a
laptop which I will take to many different places. Is there a way how I
can list all available networks? Because when I go somewhere and want to
connect to an access point, I don't know the SSID...

You don't need to know which channel your AP uses, because all channels
are scanned for an access point with the specified SSID.
