Yeah, you're right. I had mentioned earlier that the native windows
type dialogs are probably not as accessible to cut/past as the
terminal but dunno about virtual windows either. I think for these
examples a cut/paste function from the flat review function would be a
good compromize; just cut or copy into the standard gnome clipboard
and then it could be pasted into a terminal or wherever. I would
think that nearly 100% of info cut or copied in this manner would be
text so could only logically be pasted in places like text boxes,
terminal, form fields, etc.

Yes, you can copy and paste from gnome-terminal. But what about dialogs
that pop up an error dialog with an okay button and no moveable caret to
copy and paste from?

Actually, the gnome terminal already supports cut/paste operations. I
just did it the other day. Now I know that true windows might not
have actual text that can be copied out as we would normally expect.
In reMS windows, windows dialogs are mostly pictures; I mean screen
printing is always a bit map image. But if text is available from a
dialog such as in text or edit boxes, they can be copied out and I
know for a fact, you can just paste right back into a terminal
window. I did it the other day while editing a file in emacs under a
terminal.

I guess this is a bit contradictory to the concept of Orca to stay away
from virtualisation. Why a virtual window and no virtual buffer?
I don't know much about programming/scripting, but I guess that both are
similar concepts.
But to avoid the same discussion we had about a year ago, I suggest a
compromise: What about thinking of a copy-and-past-feature like Speakup?
It comes with a clipboard of its own, and you can copy text between
different consoles. What about that?
