[orca-list] automatic login question

Currently I have my VIBuntu set for automatic login with the orca user and 
of course a new password. The system comes up with no problem.
If I do ctrl-alt-backspace to log in again apparently you have ten seconds 
to enter another username and password. If I enter orca and the new pw, orca 
doesn't start and won't talk. I am logged in because I can run 
gnome-terminal. What am I missing?
