Dear Alonzo,

I think your output modules can't access the soundcard.
Perhaps your sound output is blocked from another application
or in your setup Speech Dispatcher can't access the sound
device due to permission problems.

It would help if you posted a more complete logfile, preferably
running Speech Dispatcher with the '-s -l 5' option as in

speech-dispatcher -s -l 5

or by running the spd-conf debugging utility:

spd-conf -D
