Dave,
It seems to be both alt keys.
The strange thing is that I use alt+f2 to launch orca after starting gnome, but once orca is started, the alt
keys just don't work. I even tried alt+space to try to bring up the system menu for the orca window, but
nothing.
Sometimes when I press alt+f1, orca says something about tomboy menu but I can't tell what exactly it is
saying.

Hi,
Did you try both of the Alt keys? Most keyboards map the left and the right
Alt keys as different keys, and the OS needs to recognize that both keys
should have the same function. I had this problem back when I was using
Ubuntu Edgy, and had to remap the right Alt key to send the same value as
the left Alt key.
Hope this helps,
dave

Hi,
I installed fedora 8 this morning and got everything owrking the way I
wanted.
I had orca speaking just fine, I had braille output as well, I even got
java to work with orca.
I rebooted my system and now when I go into gnome, pressing alt+f1 or
alt+f2 does nothing.
What did I do and how do I correct the problem?
