Hello Christian,
the first soundcard an onboard soundcard, as you wrote. Do you still need that soundcard? If not, disable the
onboard soundcard in BIOS. It is not really the answer to your question but it should work.

Hello Javier,
Yes, my soundcard is supported. I can see it in the gnome-volume-control as well as under sound options.
but i cannot seem to be able to select and use that. My other soundcard is still being used.
Many thanks,
Christian

Hi all
Christian, is your USB sound card supported?
If so, perhaps you have to set it using alsa E.G with gnome-alsamixer

Javier

Hi all,
I have been trying to change soundcard under Ubuntu with Orca
but with no luck. Have changed the device under preferences
sound but speech still comes through my internal soundcard.
Want to use my USB soundcard. Anything else I should change?
Many thanks, Christian _______________________________________________
