Re: [orca-list] Is this a known problem?

Hi all

Fabrizio, in order to have braille support in Orca you have first to configure BRLTTY.

You can change your braille settings in the /etc/brltty.conf file
Or by launching brltty from the command line with parameters about your braille settings.

If you are using Alva Satellite braille display you will needto set it as al and the USB port by setting usb:
as port.

In the command line you can launch sudo brltty -bal -dusb:
Braille driver: al (Alva)
Braille device: usb: (to indicate you want to use usb port).

When brltty is configured, you can enable braille support in Orca in the preferences dialog in the braille
tab.
And check the enable braille support in the preferences, then apply or accept and braille should be working
now.

Hope this help.

Regards

Javier

Hi all!
Yesterday one friend of mine tried to get braille output with Orca
2.21, but he couldn't.
He used Orca 2.21, brltty 3.8 and an Alva Satellite connected
to the USB port. I searched for this bug on bugzilla, but i
couldn't find it. Is this a known problem?

Thank you for your answers.

Fabrizio.
