Hi all. I just finished building Gnome/Orca/etc on my LFS laptop. No matter what I try, I can't get Orca to
read anything that is on the desktop. Everything seems ok to me, say for these
warnings that I get when running Gnome-session:
** (gconf-sanity-check-2:19152): WARNING **: AT_SPI_REGISTRY was not started at session startup.
** (gconf-sanity-check-2:19152): WARNING **: IOR not set.
** (gconf-sanity-check-2:19152): WARNING **: Could not locate registry
Xlib: extension "XEVIE" missing on display ":0.0".

Yet when I run ps ax | grep -i registryd on another console, I can see that at-spi-registryd is indeed
running. In terms of my environment, I have DISPLAY=:0,
GTK_MODULES="gail:atk-bridge:gail-gnome", XDG_CONFIG_DIRS="/etc/gnome/xdg", XDG_DATA_DIRS="/usr/share", and
LANG="en_US". As for an indication towards why nothing is spoken, I really have
none; there are no tracebacks in Orca's console, and no extra warnings appear where gnome-session is running.
Perhaps I need to somehow fix those warnings about at-spi-registryd not being
started with gnome-session? Or maybe it's something else entirely? Any and all ideas are appreciated. Thanks
in advance!
