I use Orca with brltty 3.8-dev, and I had the same problems. There's a
solution:
1) Type
apt-get install python-pyrex
2) Avoid configuring the package with --prefix=/usr, use the standard
procedure instead:
./autogen
./configure
make
make install
The binary brltty must be located in /bin.
