Did you already do this step?

Get the necessary packages to build Orca if you haven't done so already.
(Note that in order to obtain gnome-devel, you will need to uncomment
the universe line in /etc/apt/sources.list.): sudo apt-get install
gnome-devel build-essential automake1.9 python2.4-dev
